Mortgage Rate Update 10/3/08

Thirty-year fixed rate holding steady (so far), but CHFA rates up half a point. How far will they go? In theory, if the "Rescue" plan works and helps repair the credit markets, rates should go down, but no one knows how long it will take for this to happen. For more info on the plan's effect on mortgage rates, see the link at the end of this post.
